UK workwear fabric sourcing

High-visibility workwear fabric for UK sourcing teams.

For workwear manufacturers, private-label brands, fabric buyers and sourcing teams that control material specifications. Start with HM002 or compare HM024 ripstop, then confirm the current sample, document scope and commercial conditions.

Fabric routes

Start with two high-visibility workwear material routes.

HM002 is the primary TC route for this UK sourcing page. HM024 is the ripstop comparison route. Both require current-sample, finish, project-test and document-scope review before bulk approval.

Primary material route

HM002 · 245G TC workwear fabric

80% polyester / 20% cotton, 150D*10STC and high-visibility yellow. Use this as the first route for uniform and workwear sourcing, then confirm the current sample, shade, finish and buyer-required tests.

Ripstop comparison route

HM024 · 220G TC ripstop fabric

80% polyester / 20% cotton, 150D*21S+10STC and high-visibility yellow. Compare this route when ripstop construction needs a separate project review; do not infer tear, abrasion, waterproof or garment performance from the catalog record alone.

If a coated or laminated outer-layer route is required, describe the required performance and test method in the enquiry. We will discuss it only after the exact material record, sample and document scope can be reviewed.

UK buying brief

What to include before asking for a price.

A more complete brief reduces unsuitable samples and makes the first quotation discussion more useful.

Garment and work setting

Jacket, trouser, coverall or vest; construction, rail, utilities, logistics, roadwork or another application.

Material specification

Composition, construction, target GSM, colour direction, stretch, coating, lamination and laundering expectation.

Evidence boundary

Required standard, report colour, test scope and whether the request concerns fabric, components or finished-garment conformity.

Commercial inputs

Sample type, quantity range, delivery destination, target timing and whether repeat sourcing is expected.

Commercial route

Confirm sample, evidence and conditions before bulk approval.

MOQ is 1,000 metres. Sample cost is confirmed by fabric specification, sample size and metres, and can be deducted from a bulk order. New sample development lead time is 30 days; bulk lead time is confirmed against the ordered quantity.

Reference range

For an early discussion with only a broad product direction. It is not a fixed offer and remains subject to current project conditions.

Indicative quotation

Prepared after the application, specification, quantity range, destination and required finish are clearer. Raw material price, freight method, processing and quantity affect the result.

Formal quotation

Issued after the specification, quantity and delivery terms are confirmed. The current quotation validity is seven days.

Important boundary

Fabric evidence does not certify the finished garment.

After an internal document-applicability review, we can discuss relevant controlled fabric specifications, available swatches and document scope for the selected route. Applicability depends on the product code, colour, finish, sample or lot, target market and document purpose.

These materials support route selection, sample review and quality communication. They do not automatically release every bulk lot or certify the finished garment. Final garment conformity also depends on the garment design, fluorescent background area, retroreflective component placement, construction, marking and the applicable UK conformity process.

For rail procurement, tell us if a rail-industry specification such as RIS-3279-TOM applies so the request can be recorded separately. Do not assume a general orange fabric direction satisfies a rail contract.

UK context used for this sourcing page

  • HSE advises selecting high-visibility clothing for the actual risk, lighting, work and wearer.
  • BS EN ISO 20471 is a high-visibility warning clothing standard; the garment and its components must be reviewed within the relevant scope.
  • RSSB publishes RIS-3279-TOM for high-visibility clothing in the Great Britain rail context.

How sampling works

A short path from search click to useful sample review.

1

Share the requirement

State the garment use, delivery country, quantity range, required finish or tests, and whether you need a sample, document review or indicative quote.

2

Review the route

We compare HM002, HM024 or another requested route against the current sample and the evidence scope that actually applies.

3

Confirm sample and conditions

Confirm sample cost, colour direction, specification and available controlled documentation before relying on a bulk decision.

4

Receive the right quotation

We issue an indicative quotation first where appropriate, then a seven-day formal quotation after specification, quantity and delivery terms are confirmed.

Request sample, document review or quote

Send one clear UK sourcing brief.

Only contact details are required. Select a route if you know it; otherwise choose “Please recommend” and give the information already available.

  • What you need first: sample, document review or indicative quote
  • Garment use, material route and quantity range
  • Finish, test or performance needs
  • Document scope and delivery country

We use these details only to respond to this enquiry and manage related follow-up. A successful submission is not a qualified lead or a formal quotation. See our Privacy Policy or .

FAQ

Questions UK workwear buyers often ask first.

Can you provide BS EN ISO 20471 related fabric documents?

After an internal document-applicability review, relevant controlled fabric specifications, available swatches and document scope can be discussed by product code, colour, finish, sample or lot and document purpose. They do not by themselves certify a finished garment or release every bulk lot.

How should I choose between HM002 and HM024?

Start with HM002 for the primary 245G TC comparison, or HM024 when ripstop construction needs a separate review. Both routes require the current sample, finish, buyer-required tests and document scope before bulk approval.

Do you claim that a fabric is approved for UK rail use?

No blanket rail approval is claimed. If RIS-3279-TOM or a buyer-specific rail specification applies, identify it in the enquiry so fabric, component and finished-garment requirements can be kept separate.

What information is needed for a useful quotation?

Share the application, delivery country, material route if known, quantity range and any finish, test or document needs. An indicative quotation is based on current project conditions; a formal quotation follows after specification, quantity and delivery terms are confirmed.
